Best Answer: I teach and I own a 15 inch MBP and just recently bought the 11.6 MBA with 2G RAM and 128G drive. It's fast enough for everything you need to do as a teacher. I even have CS4 installed on my MBA and it has not problems running it. I use CS4 for editing PDF files mainly. You will either need to use a shared DVD drive from another laptop or computer or buy the $79 external drive for it to load programs on discs for it. I've been enjoying the MacBook Air for almost a month now and have not even powered up my 2.66Ghz MacBook Pro.
Plus it's so light is will easily fit in your messenger bag. I bought a leather manila envelope for it and it's perfect for protection against all the stuff I carry in my messenger bag. If you haven't used a Mac before I suggest downloading the keyboard shortcuts. But once you get used to it everything will be so much easier to do on a Mac. BTW I still use both Mac's and PC's for school.

If you're going to have lots of documents on the computer and lots of videos then you might consider upgrading to the 128GB model or purchasing an external hard drive to hold everything.

You might benefit from the 1.6 GHz processor of the 128GB model. If you're willing to spend the money, go for it. Overall, to answer your question, yes, the base 11-inch model would be sufficient.
